The Grandmother
This Grandmother is Maria Sabina, a Mexican Shaman. She is composed of medicine: plants, insects and fungi. She represents the interconnection between everything. Throughout our lives, plants, insects, fungi and animals are what sustain us. When we die, we go back to the earth and become the nutrients for these creatures. The Grandmother is the archetype that represents the menstrual phase. She represents the transition from life to death to rebirth. She is represented by the new moon, the season of winter. This is the time when women can hear their inner voice most clearly. It is a time to rest, meditate and dream.
My fine art prints are limited edition, printed in small-batches at a local printshop on high quality recycled paper and packaged by me using ethically sourced materials. Each print is intentionally and individually hand detailed with gold ink, making each piece magically unique.
All prints are made to order from my small studio, so please provide 5-10 days for shipping. Prints will be shipped flat between cardboard to prevent damage during shipping. Please note that purchase of my prints does not transfer copyright ownership - please kindly do not reproduce, copy or use my artwork without my permission.
